Lotts to tell

Oct 13,2014

Hey everyone!!  This past weekend we got to watch conference!  On saturday morning we had the priesthood session.  Then we had an hour in between the remaining sessions that day!  I liked the talk that Elder Bednar gave.  That story that he gave with his kids in it was pretty funny and then when he related it to that scripture verse!  I also like the one were President Monson talked about that indestructible boat and what the role of the rudder is and then he related it to our lives!!  Me and elder arorong have 2 baptisms this up coming saturday!  So that is exciting.  I also got your package in the mail this past saturday!  I like the camera   it is really nice.  Thanks for all of the snacks they are so good.  I will try not to eat them all so fast...haha!  The picture is me and elder arorong at the pizza restaurant again.  We went there today.  He didn't want to go.  He wanted to go to a care in deria, sorry I didn't know how to spell it but that is what it sounds like.  It is pretty much homemade food for really cheap and they are everywhere.  So I convinced him to get pizza but I told him that I would pay 3\4 of the price.  Who wouldn't take that!!  But I don't want to eat that kind of food which is filipino food...haha I guess I am in trouble because I will be in the Philippines for 2 years!!!  I hope that you all had a happy 12th!  That was yesterday for me so we were watching conference on the 12th!  How is the garden?  Are you getting a lot of food from it?  How is the temperature there? Well to tell you I don't miss mowing the lawn for sure!  My companion can understand english and he can speak it decently.  So it isn't really a problem.  As for the language, it isn't really coming easier but I can understand a little bit more but I can't speak it at all!  I am hanging in there though!!  I love you all!!

Hey everyone!  This past saturday we had a lunch appointment at our bishops house.  After that we all went to the church and had our BAPTISMS! The investigators are a couple.  Elder Arorong baptized the husband and I baptized the wife.  He had to do it 4 times.  The water wasn't that deep.  I would say that it probably went up to the middle of my thigh.  So his knee kept popping up out of the water.  They have 3 kids all under 8.  This family has been investigators for awhile.  One of things that is a requirement before baptism, is that the investigator has to go to church for 4 weeks in a row.  This family is really poor and they live really far away from the chapel.  So it was really nice for them to be able to get baptized.  Since I have been here in the philippines I have realized how many blessings that we have back home.  That we have temples and church buildings close to our homes.  On saturday night we also had a dinner appointment.  The food that we had is called adobo.  I actually like it, but it is like the only thing that I like.  Then on the sunday following their baptism they were confirmed in sacrament.  It looks like you had fun down in goblin valley.  How was it not having to worry about me not falling and dying...just kidding.  So is it getting cold there?  You all are wearing jackets?  I love you all

Me and elder arorongs other investigator is the girl closest to the two elders.  She has a baptismal date for nov 1.

This is a picture of the adobo.  It is pork and I don't know how they make it

We are so very proud of Alex.  He is making sacrifices I can't even imagine.  We enjoy our weekly emails and pictures.  It's wonderful to have a missionary out.  We have seen so much growth in him already.  My relationship with him is closer than ever.  I am thankful to my Heavenly Father and for my boys that have been "Called to Serve".   The sacrifices we make in this life make it possible for others to be with their families forever and that makes it all worth it.

Fun night at a corn maze

Silly Ethan with a crayon mustache and Book of Mormon on his head.
I guess this is something he recently learned in Primary because, out of the blue he will tell me that his spirit is hungry and that we need to read the scriptures or say a prayer.  So we just stop what we are doing and say a little prayer.   It is so cute to see such innocence and faith.  This morning he had a bad dream and came downstairs with his Book of Mormon and wanted to read the scriptures and so we did.  My little boys cease to amaze me.  They can be so sweet and tender, when they are not beating the crud out of each other.  Boys will be boys.

We love you Ry.  I can't wait to give you a big hug someday.

I came across this in the Ensign this month.  I am so thankful for comforting words that continue to help me and give me strength.  Look for little miracles in your lives every day.  Remember prayers are answered and you are never alone.

So the boys got this new under ware and were so excited.  You would have though they had just got a puppy.  It brought back memories of years ago the same thing happening with Alex and Ryan.  So we decided to recreate yet another memory from the past.  It still amazes me at how similar our two sets of boys are.  Mike and I keep thinking to ourselves, "Didn't we do this ten years ago?".  The similarities have been wonderful and it's fun to have two little rowdy boys around to keep us young, smiling, rolling our eyes and yes, tired.

Ethan just slipped and bumped his head and needed his father's love.

On the way home we stopped by the dinosaur museum in Price, Utah.

For scouts last week we carved pumpkins to display at the Hooper Haunt.  Boy did our garage stink after carving 45 pumpkins.  We all had fun and believe it or not the mess wasn't that bad.

Ethan was so excited to find the one he carved.

Lotts of fun...  Lotts of memories...   Lotts of blessings!!!
