Still playing catch up !!!!

This is a quick overview of some of the things that have taken place in 2021 with our family.

                                                  Feb 10, 2021

Alex turned 25.  Boy does that make me feel old.

                                                       Feb 17, 2021

Mike and I celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary.

Ethan works for a friend of ours helping in his big garden.   He helps in the green house and then in the field.  They plant various vegetables and he helps throughout the year ending with harvest time in the fall.

Adam enjoyed playing basketball during the winter months.

My nephew Benjamin and I share the same birthday of February 29th (this year Feb 28th).  We celebrated this year together, as we often do.  I turn 11 1/4 and he was 1 1/4. (I think Ha Ha)

I had this made for Ryan to display at the cemetery.  Wow, I can't believe he would be 23 this year and has been gone for 9 years.

Now that the weather is warmer, we enjoyed cook-outs in the spring.

This is a day that I have looked forward to for years.  I graduated with my degree in Marriage and Family Studies from BYU-Idaho (on-line) on April 8, 2021.  Because of covid, the ceremony was virtual.  It was still special to listen to the speakers from our home.  On a plus side, we were able to eat cheese cake while watching the commemoration.

We needed to replenish our chicken flock so we got babies again this year.  They were so cute and tiny.  (not to worry they were kept in the garage and only came into the entry way a few times while they were played with.)

April 13, 2021

Can't believe Adam turned 15.  He has his learners permit and can't wait to get his license next year.

We had fun watching Adam in track this year.  He did really well and was able to go to district.  He took 4th place in long jump, 5th in hurdles, and 7th in high jump.

The boys have bugged me for a puppy for years.  I finally caved and we got a little chocolate lab we named Gus.  He is so cute and had tons of energy.  After a few days we knew he needed a friend and so we welcomed Max.

It was a great decision to get another puppy.  They love to play together and keep each other company.  The boys love their new puppies, except for all of the poop.  Ha ha.  I am so glad they are kept outside.  They destroy everything and love to chew on everything.

May 12, 2021

Can't believe Ryan has been gone for 9 years.  It was so nice to have Jaime home with us.  Alex and Kelsie met us later in the evening for dinner.  It was special to be together to remember Ryan.

Family trip to Corpus Christi, Texas

June 1-8, 2021

                                           The Alamo in San Antonio

Fun at the beach.  I am usually a chicken but decided to get in.  The water was so warm and felt great.

It was Alex's dream to go deep sea fishing.  The day did not go as planned.  The water was very choppy with 6-10 foot swells.  For this reason everyone got sea sick, except for Ethan.  Mike and Adam were able to fish, but poor Alex was so sick he couldn't even fish.  We joke that he paid $150 to throw up off a boat.  Let's just say the fishing trip was memorable and they can now laugh about the experience.  Us girls stayed back on land and enjoyed a day of relaxing while they were gone.  After hearing about their adventures, we are glad we didn't go.

Adam accidentally caught a sea turtle.  He was able to let it go and it was ok.

The boys had fun fishing at the beach.  Adam caught a few tiny ones.  He went out up to his shoulders to fish.  He's crazy.  I am glad he didn't catch a shark.

We went on a dolphin sunset cruise.  We saw many dolphins and the sunset was beautiful.  We especially had fun playing with some of the critters they caught for us to look at.  I was even brave and held the butterfly ray.  Jaime made me.  It was slimly and freaked me out.

I lived in Corpus Christi when I was a girl.  It had been 30 years since I have been back.  It was fun, and sad, to see how things have changed.  We were able to attend my old ward.  Everyone has long since left, but it was still nice to be there and remember the past.

Yummy pazookie

                                                                      June 9, 2021

Happy 20th b-day Jaime.  We got home from our trip on her b-day at like 1 am.  We picked up food from Rancheritos and sang to her with her breakfast burrito.

later that day

The boys had fun winning these at Lagoon.  Adam threw the fast ball to get them.

Yeah!!!!  She got clearance that her bone is healed enough to go back.

Ethan babysat a few cows this summer.  He had to bottle feed one of them.  He loved it and named it JJ.  He is sad it will be dinner come next year.

Jaime loves to paint.  She did a Bob Ross painting session.

Ethan loves to swim

We had fun doing this puzzle.  It was crazy it did not fall apart when we picked it up.

Jaime wanted to go hiking before leaving again.  We hiked Waterfall Canyon up in Ogden.  It was a hard hike and sadly there really wasn't a waterfall due to the drought.  Still, good to be together.

Jaime was set apart (again) on July 7, 2021.

yummy treats afterwards at Arctic Circle

Off to the airport for the second time.

                                                                      July 8, 2021

It was almost as hard to send her off the 2nd as the first time.  I will really miss her.  I am so proud of her and the faith and courage she has.  She had a 6am flight.  We were up at 2:30 am.  The airport was so busy.  It was truly a miracle she made her flight- the security line was almost out the door.  She later texted that she boarded the plane 13 minutes before departure.  Wow.... that was way to close!!!!

Until we see you again Jaime in June.  We love you!!!!
