The busy month of September 2014

September 29, 2014

Hey Family another week has passed!!  All of you look like you are having a great time back at home!  Two Saturdays ago, I was working out and I either pulled or strained a muscle in my back.  So It hurts really bad and I have been taking pain killers like a drug addict...haha!!  Of course on the schedule I am supposed to!  This week there was transfers and a really cool elder got transfered from our apartment.  I stayed because I am being trained.  This past saturday our ward had like a family game day at the church.  Most of the games were lame but some of the games were funny to watch.  Also apparently the elders were supposed to do the Hocka.  It is like a somoan pump up dance or something, but they practiced it when I was asleep.  So when we actually did it I didn't know anything so I just looked like an idiot!!  One of the games the elders participated in.  It was a race.  There was four sodas in a line.  Each of us had one.  The one I had, had four straws connected that I had to drink the soda through and at the end the last elder had one straw.  So I had to finish mine and then the next elder could start his.  That was the game.  There was a couple other teams that we were competed against.  I tried to drink through four straws, it is really hard to try and suck soda up through straws that is like 3 ft tall.  I started getting light headed so then I just drank it!!  Technically cheating, then elder arorong was laughing and a little bit went up through my nose and it burns!!  Another elder who only had to drink through 2 straws did the same thing but someone made him laugh and he spit the soda all over the floor!!  It was way funny!!:)  This past sunday I was surprised and had to teach ym's last minute.  Good thing it was only for 15 min because sunday school went over like 30 minutes.  I thought it went pretty good my topic was tithing!  Thats my week for ya!:)  Also want to wish Ethan a HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUD!!  I love you all!!

Adam received his wolf award.  He loves cub scouts and  was so excited.  It was fun that we had a campfire that night and he was awarded it via the light of the fire.  Afterwards the scouts roasted smores.  It was a hit.

Ethan finally turned 6.  He has been looking forward to this day for a long time (actually he began the count down the day after he turned five).  He was so thrilled to receive a Raiders- McFadden jersey.  He loves McFadden because he is the fastest runner on the Xbox game.  Poor Mike was gritting his teeth to smile.  He has hated the Raiders since he was a kid.  The Raiders happen to be his brother's favorite team and so a certain uncle was very happy to see Ethan's new gear.  (Actually Mike was a great sport about it and just smiled to see his little boy so happy.)

Ethan was so excited to get a new ipod.  Actually it's a little purple ipod shuffle that we have had for years.  It has been handed down from Jaime to Adam and now to Ethan.  Ethan was so excited to have ten songs on it that he can play over and over again.  Now he walks around with his ear buds in and can't hear a thing we are saying to him and when we finally get his attention he speaks so loudly.  It's pretty funny and he looks so cute singing to the songs.

Seeing Ethan in his jersey with his head phones in reminded me of a certain picture we have of Ryan.  We did the best we could at recreating it.  It brought tears to my eyes.

(Ryan is nine and Ethan is six and it's not the same ipod)

We went camping up at Crystal Hot Springs near Brigham. It was a fun and easy camp out.  The kids made friends and had fun playing soccer and football.

Hey Family!  This past sunday was our bishops birthday.  We had a dinner appointment at his house.  There was quite a few people there.  As a missionary it is good to have any kind of food appointment.  The reasons for that is because that means that we don't have to cook and because we are poor as missionaries...haha!  We are givin about 3700 pesos for 2 weeks!  For everything we need!  Anyways it is good to have dinner appointments.  We had spaghetti.  It was filipino spaghetti which is different than spaghetti I am used to.  The sauce is more like a tomato paste.  I definitely like moms better but it wasn't that bad.  That one picture is us going back to our apartment from the dinner appointment!
I didn't get the chance to watch conference this past weekend.  We will be able to watch it this weekend though, I think.
This past monday me and elder arorong went and got me and x ray.  As I said I hurt my back 2 weeks ago working out and the doctor wanted me to get an x ray.  So yesterday I got an x ray!  Nothing showed up on it, which is good.  So I will just keep monitoring it and taking pain killers.
Me and elder arorong have 3 baptismal dates set for this month.  Two of them is a wife and husband and the other investigator is a friend of a girl in our ward.  Pretty awesome!!
It has been pretty rainy these past couple days.  I don't mind it that much because when it rains it isn't as hot.  It is also nicer at the apartment unless if the power doesn't go out.
I love you all.  It sounds like you are all having a good time.  Love ya

Hey dad  Ya we haven't had the chance to watch conference yet.  We are going to watch it this saturday.  The work is going good over here.  Me and elder arorong have 3 investigators with a baptismal date this month.  Things are going good for me.  I mean I am surviving of of french toast and eggs and sandwichs.  I don't know if that is a good diet but its alright.  I am learning a lot more about the gospel.  I knew a lot before I came out but just using it everyday, I am learning more.  I have started the book of mormon again.  I am on like page 200 or around there.

Wow that weather sounds amazing.  Soon it will be snowing there.  There will be no snow here tho that is for sure.  Miss you

Love
Elder Alex Lott

Me and my elder arorong ate at mcdonalds last week.  It is like a 5 star resturant here...haha

I sent Alex a huge package weighing about 70 lbs last week.  It will go by boat and will probably take 2 months to get there.  It is loaded with goodies.  Hopefully he doesn't eat it all at once.  Ha ha.
