Lotts of stuff in 2022

(Funny I just got on to catch up this year and didn't realize had started this but never finished it!!)

I can't believe it's already the end of April.  We have a had a busy year.  We have made many memories and have so much to be thankful for.

Mike and the boys enjoyed doing some skiing up at Beaver Mountain.  I do not like to ski.  I am prefectly happy to be home and warm, enjoying some "me" time.  I am thankful they enjoy these outings together.

Alex turned 26.  Boy do I feel old now!!!!

We received some hard news this past fall.  After a lot of testing, Alex was diagnosed with the same condition that Ryan passed away from- hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.  His heart has thankfully not progressed to the level that Ryan's was at.  As a procaution, Alex had a heart defibrillator placed in February.  We are so thankful for modern medicine and for the tender mercy from above in finding out about Alex's heart.  We feel blessed that Alex will be ok and can still live a normal life.  To be safe we had extra tests run on both Adam and Ethan.  Thankfully they do not have the same conditoin.  We will continue to have their hearts checked yearly, as we have been doing.  Jaime will have all the extra tests run in a few weeks. (Jaime checked out fine as well!!!)

The heart defibrillator is huge!! Poor Alex has a 4 inch incision on his side and a two inch one on the front of his abdomen.  You can totally see it sticking out and you can feel the wires that run from it to his heart.

(look to the right and then you can see the wires running left and up to his heart)

They actually had to stop his heart to make sure the device worked.  That was hard news to hear.

The boys having their heart MRIs at Primary Children's Hospital.

Let's just say that February was a crazy month.  The night after Alex had his surgery, Adam hit his head playing basketball.  Long story short we ended up in the ER, via ambulance, and he was diagnosed with a concussion.  He spent the next two weeks out of school.  I drove him crazy by following him around.  I didn't want him to pass out and fall over.  He's also always jumping and running and it was hard to keep him from doing those things.

Adam was so bored.  It was hard to keep him from doing dumb teenage boy things and getting hurt again.  He spent a lot of time playing games with his Grandma Jeri.  She was such a blessing to us.  She came up with some fun experiments for the boys to do.

(whole milk and you add food coloring to it)

Ethan was so happy "his" team the Rams won the Super Bowl!!!

                                     Happy 27th Annivesary

Mike and I attended the Chicago concert in Vegas.  It was a great concert.  They are super old but they can still play.  Mike and my song is 'You're the Inspirtation."  We love it when they play it.

                                          Happy b-day to me.

      February 28, 2022 (no 29th this year)

Happy 24th B-day Ryan!!!!

We love and miss you sooooo much!!!!!

It's special that Alex and Adam hang out together.  They had fun shed hunting.  Alex was jealous that Adam found a big set of antlers his first time going.

For spring break we headed to Twin Falls.  We had a lot of fun doing various activities.  Poor Adam was sick for the first few days and slept, but luckily got better quickly.

                                 Shoshone Falls

                                                                         fun bowling

We had fun at the City of Rocks.  Our friends the Millers met us there.  I admit it was kind of nerve-racking making sure a bunch of boys didn't fall off a cliff.

Happy 16th b-day Adam!!!

April 13, 2022

We went to eat at this all you can eat Mongolian BBQ- Chinese restaurant.  It was so yummy.  The boys love to eat there because they can load up and eat a ton.  My dad loves seafood- or as he calls it, "food with faces".  Adam though he would be brave and and try squid and oysters.  It was hilarious.  He almost threw up!!!

April 16
a cold game of golf

We enjoyd watching Adam do track again this year.  He did great for being a sophmore.  He also did great considering he missed most of the practices due to having drivers ed and recovering from a concussion.

sore after practice
It was kind of funny he was moving like an old man.

We froze during one of his meets!!!

                                                                      Hermana Lott

April 18

An evening with David Aua- one of our favorite missionaries (he's a return missionary now).  We drove by the Layton Temple which will be open hopefully in 2023.

Last time talking to Hermana Lott before she comes home.  It was bitter sweet.
