At the neighbors, Alex's first time swimming in 2 years.  He said the water was warmer than his showers these past two years.

Ouch.  Poor Mike.
Long story short, Mike was playing basketball with the boys the day after Alex got home.  He pulled his Achilles tendon.  We had an x-ray the next day.  Ten days later it still wasn't getting better.  It would get quite swollen and he couldn't flex it.  Today we took him back to the doctors and one MRI later got the results that he has a complete rupture of his tendon and will need surgery.  Ugh.  There goes all our fun summer plans.  Oh well.  Still so many blessings.  He does still have two legs as I have pointed out to him.

passing the time at the airport

It was an emotional day to say the least.  I cried many times anticipating this joyous moment.  It was wonderful to finally see him and all the other missionaries when the walked out.  There was a big crowd and everyone was so excited.  It was a special experience that I will never forget.

together again at last

Alex's little brothers couldn't get enough of him.  They continued to follow him around for days.  It was very cute, and Alex was so patient with them.

The first meal home- his choice

He couldn't wait to dig into some ribs.  To bad he isn't used to American food and he hardly ate anything, but he enjoyed what he did eat.

Ethan is sooo happy to have him home.

We didn't get home till around 11pm.  Still, he did shoot a few hoops with his little brothers.  Then we stayed up until 2:30am talking and just enjoying being together.

Ethan enjoying the blow darts that Alex brought home for he and Adam.  That's an accident waiting to happen.

Alex's homecoming was the following Sunday.  Thank you for all those who came to support us.  Alex did a great job on his talk.

Alex is adjusting back to life at home without any problems.  He has had fun hanging out with his little buddies.  At one point I told them to be careful and Ethan with a little attitude remarked, "We have an adult with us."

It almost brought tears of joy to see him do the dishes without being asked.  And yes, I know this won't last forever, but it was still wonderful to witness.

It was special to see the joy on Alex's face as he laid on the carpet, drank a glass of cold water for the kitchen sink and to hear about how he enjoyed his first hot shower in two years with out cockroaches.  Boy, we are so blessed!!!

Welcome Home Alex.  We Love You Sooo Much !!!
